Stock Market Review 25th February

Global stocks saw major gains on Tuesday after Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair Janet Yellen’s testimony to Congress, while EU finance ministers approved the reforms proposal from Greece.

US stocks saw gains,  the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose to 2,115.48  points (0.28%), while the Dow Jones Industrial climbed to 18,2019.19 (0.51%) and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.14% to 4,968.12. 

In Europe, the European Euro Stoxx 50 Index jumped 0.78% higher to 3,547.10 points, while the German DAX 30 Index rose to 11,205.74 (0.67%), the French CAC 40 Index climbed to 4,886.44 (0.50%) and Britain’s benchmark FTSE 100 Index edged 0.54% higher to 6,949.63.

In Asia, the Japanese Nikkei 225 Index was down 0.10% to 18,585.20, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was rose 0.07% to 24,756.59.
