Stock Market Review 26th February

Global stocks were seen trading mostly lower as Yellen spoke before the House financial Services Committee on Wednesday, while fresh report showed that US home sales in January remained solid.

Wall Street stocks were mixed,  the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell to 2,113.86  points (0.08%), while the Dow Jones Industrial climbed to 18,224.57 (0.08%) and the Nasdaq Composite slid 0.02% to 4,967.14. 

In Europe, the European Euro Stoxx 50 Index edged 0.15% lower to 3,541.78 points, while the German DAX 30 Index rose to 11,210.27 (0.04%), the French CAC 40 Index dropped to 4,882.22 (0.09%) and Britain’s benchmark FTSE 100 Index was down 0.21% to 6,935.38.

In Asia, the Japanese Nikkei 225 Index rose 1.08% to 18,785.79, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was climbed 0.41% to 24,880.03.
